Mānoa Alcohol Project Student Planner

A thesis collaboration turned real-world publication — designed for UH Mānoa students.

Knowledge is power. Design is persuasion.
The MAP Planner was my BFA thesis project at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa  and one of those rare school projects that actually made it into the real world.

Campaign Coordinator Pedro Haro approached our professor, Anne Bush, looking for a design solution to address high-risk and underage drinking among freshmen in the residence halls. Our team concluded that a student planner was the best vehicle — something students would actually use and carry with them. Each week featured an alcohol-related fact or statistic alongside practical content like graduation requirements, campus guides, and alcohol resources.

In Fall 2008, the planner was distributed to UH Mānoa students campuswide.
