Year of the Ox. Conga line mandatory.
Every year, Stacey Leong Design celebrates the Chinese New Year with a design featuring the year's zodiac animal. For the Year of the Ox, I took it a step further — concepting an "xOXo Party" for their biannual client thank-you celebration. The name was a little love letter hiding in plain sight: kisses and hugs, with the Ox right in the middle.
The invite brought the concept to life with a conga line of each team member's own Chinese zodiac animal — illustrated, dressed for the occasion, and ready to party. I illustrated the characters and designed the card, with Karyn Lau completing the final piece.
The design went on to win an AIGA Hawaiʻi 5-O Award of Excellence in 2009.
